Mianyang CHAM’s self-developed 32140 cylindrical lithium-ion battery has successfully obtained the mandatory CCC certification under China’s new national standard GB 43854-2024 "Safety Technical Specification for Lithium-ion Batteries Used in Electric Bicycles", making it one of the first domestic lithium battery manufacturers to achieve this certification. This milestone underscores CHAM’s industry-leading safety performance, providing reliable assurance for the high-quality development of the e-bike sector.
Authoritative Certification Reinforces Safety Excellence
The certification was issued by CESI (Beijing Certification Co., Ltd.), China’s leading accreditation body. As the country’s first mandatory safety standard for e-bike lithium batteries, it imposes stringent requirements on both individual cells and battery packs, marking the industry’s entry into a new era of compulsory safety certification.
CHAM’s 32140 lithium battery demonstrated outstanding performance in testing:
· Extreme Safety Tests: Passed rigorous conditions including 1.5x overcharge and nail penetration, ensuring stability under abnormal circumstances and eliminating thermal runaway risks.
· Full Lifecycle Traceability: Each cell features a unique permanent code, enabling end-to-end tracking from production to retirement for enhanced user safety.
· Factory Quality Compliance: Achieved zero non-conformities in factory quality assurance audits, reflecting the company’s stringent quality control standards.
New National Standard Accelerates Industry Reshaping
Effective November 1, 2024, GB 43854-2024 mandates that all e-bike lithium batteries with a nominal voltage ≤48V and max output voltage ≤60V must comply. Non-compliant products will be banned from production and sale. The CCC certification adopts the most rigorous evaluation framework in the industry, combining type testing, factory inspections, and post-certification supervision.
With this certification, Mianyang CHAM gains a first-mover advantage in the evolving market:
· Technological Leadership: Promotes safer battery technologies (e.g., LiFePO₄) and phases out low-end capacity.
· Regulatory Preparedness: Early alignment with the new standard positions the company to capitalize on policy-driven opportunities.
· Enhanced Brand Trust: As a state-backed certification, CCC significantly boosts end-user confidence.
As the CCC requirement takes full effect, uncertified products will exit the market. Mianyang CHAM, with its proactive compliance, is poised to expand its market share further.
